This old sawmill stands alone and abandoned rather deep in our north woods.  I often come across unexpected scenes and stuff while hiking in to some hard-to-get-to trout stream.

"Quiet Run"

One of two watercolor paintings from a plein air painting session with Waters Edge Artists here in northeast Wisconsin. From my spot on the edge of the Pike River I painted this facing downstream.  That same day I did a painting from the same spot but facing up stream

I took quite a few liberties with color but the scene itself is accurate.
