My painting "Hard Life" has been included in Midwest Prairie Review recently published by UW-Madison Continuing Studies Writing Department.  Fifteen paintings were competitivley  selected under the Art category.  There are thirteen poets, seven fiction writers and seven non-fiction writers included in the publication.

"Deer"

I struggle to simplify my watercolor paintings and still have a deer look like a deer. I'm never satisfied but I felt this one was good enough to have it made into ceramic and marble tiles.

Freezing can be a problem painting "en plein air" with watercolors in the winter so in preparation for an up-coming paint-out I experimented this morning with a quick (less than one hour) painting using vodka instead of water.  Thus the title below.
