Oconto Yacht Club

Water's Edge Artists had their monthly plein air paint-out at the Oconto Wisconsin waterfront Friday and Saturday (yesterday) and this is what I painted.  The wooden Pelican was carved on-site from a deceased tree by one of their club members.  I didn't get his name.

"Plein Air Painter"
Some times when painting "en plein air" another artist will set up unintentionally in the sight path of what you intended to paint.  When it is a beautiful lady you don't mind.  In this painting she became the subject and the old farm house became merely the background.

The site was the Blind Horse Restraunt and Winery.

Big Bay Lighthouse

Situated on the shore of Lake Superior this lighthouse triggers thoughts of Anatomy of a Murder and other great writing by Robert Traver, especially his tales about trout fishing.

Yes, I know that was his pen name.

"Galena Gazebo-Grant Park"

I should know better than to photograph a painting with a hand held camera but this will give you an idea of how I spent a rainy day.
